Bukayo Saka has recovered from a disappointing summer to become Arsenal's focal point

Mikel Arteta has issued an update on star man Bukayo Saka ahead of their trip to the London Stadium on Sunday to take on West Ham.

Saka was forced off in their 3-1 win over Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime, but it was thought to be precautionary, and the 20 year old was pictured in full training during the week leading up to the clash with David Moyes’ side.

And, when questioned on the youngster, Arteta revealed that ‘we expect him to be fine’ to start against the Hammers at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, a decision is set to be made on Takehiro Tomiyasu on Saturday, the Arsenal boss revealed.

‘When he’s been out so long you only know how he will fare when you put a player on the pitch. He lacks a bit of time on the pitch so it’s a decision that we’ll make tomorrow’, the Spaniard said.

Advantage Arsenal?

Having bounced back from three straight defeats with 6/6 points and seven goals against Manchester United and Chelsea, Arsenal have once more strengthened their grip on the top 4.

And, while they face high-flying West Ham, they could not be playing their London rivals at a better time. The clash comes with West Ham’s Europa League semi-final either side of the game with the Gunners and, having lost the first leg 2-1, it seems unlikely that Moyes will take too many risks with his team selection for the Premier League tie.

Meanwhile, though Kurt Zouma made a miraculous recovery from injury to take his place in the heart of the Hammers defense for their 2-1 defeat to Frankfurt, he is unlikely to manage 3 games in 7 days, while Craig Dawson is suspended for domestic fixtures , meaning that West Ham could be without any senior center backs for the game.

It all points to an Arsenal win, but they have a knack of messing up the simple.
