Mo Salah sends Champions League message following Manchester City's shock exit

Liverpool forward Mo Salah has taken to social media to send a short message to Champions League finalists Real Madrid after Los Blancos produced yet another astonishing comeback on their road to the final in Paris.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side had already produced incredible turnarounds against Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea in the previous two rounds to squeeze through, but looked as if they had run out of road against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City when Riyad Mahrez handed the Cityzens a 1 goal lead on the night, and a two-goal lead on aggregate.

That all changed in stoppage time, however, as super-sub Rodrygo popped up with two goals, Real Madrid’s first and second shots on target of the game, to send the fans into jubilation and the tie in extra time.

Then, in the first half of the added 30 minutes, Karim Benzema won his side a penalty, before dusting himself down and slotting home what turned out to be the winner and complete a remarkable comeback in the Santiago Bernabeu.

Salah sends Madrid message

And, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has got his wish, having revealed that he wanted to play Real Madrid and not Manchester City in the final in Paris, got his wish.

“It’s great to be in the final for the third time in five years.”

“I want to play Real Madrid, I have to be honest.”

“Hopefully we’ll win it from them as well.”

The Egyptian, taking to social media, clearly wants revenge for 2018, where he was taken off with a dislocated shoulder in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid. He tweeted a simple message. ‘We have a score to settle’.

And, with arguably the most in-form team in Europe up against the record winners who defy logic time and time again, it is set up to be a mouthwatering contest.
