Tottenham back in the race? Barcelona not set to make Adama Traore deal permanent

Posted on May 3, 2022 By admin No Comments on Tottenham back in the race? Barcelona not set to make Adama Traore deal permanent

Tottenham have potentially been handed a boost in their pursuit of a new wing back this summer, with Barcelona reportedly not set to make their loan deal for Adama Traore permanent, leaving him back on the market.

Spurs were tracking the Spaniard for much of January, only for Barcelona to swoop in during the final days of the window to whisk the La Masia graduate nack to Camp Nou for the remainder of the campaign.

During this time, Traore has blown hot and cold, with 4 assists across 15 La Liga and Europa League appearances. But, with the Spanish renewal outlet of Ousmane Dembele’s contract, Marca report that the club will no longer take up the 30m euro option to buy in Adama’s loan deal.

Tottenham to snag a bargain?

Tottenham already tried to agree a loan to buy deal with Wolves for Traore in January, but were unable to reach an agreement. However, when he returns from loan, the Spaniard will have just 12 months left on his Molineux deal, meaning that this summer is the last chance that the midlands club have to cash in.

And, with Spurs needing to reinforce in multiple positions this summer, a bargain such as Traore, with the Spaniard earmarked to play as a wing-back in Conte’s system, would be a very shrewd piece of business by the north London club.

In addition to a wing-back, Tottenham are looking to add a center-back, a left wing-back, backup to Harry Kane, a backup goalkeeper and another central player. It will almost certainly be a long and busy summer.
